Prioritising Pedestrian Safety and Client Care on a Busy City-Centre Project
Our latest project at the British Telecom building in Glasgow forms part of an ongoing contract with Prestec UK, who are refurbishing BT properties across the country.
This phase of the work focused on cleaning the building both internally and within a courtyard area, with chemical treatments being used on the front elevation.
Naturally, that meant one thing had to be front and centre: pedestrian safety. In a location as busy as this, there’s no room for taking chances.
We designed and installed scaffolding that not only gave the contractor the access they needed but also fully protected anyone passing below. With cleaning chemicals involved, preventing splashes or overspray was absolutely essential. Our team put robust safety measures in place to make sure the public could walk past without a worry.
Because of nearby hotels and the flow of commuters heading to work, we were restricted to working between 9:30am and 3:30pm. It was tight, but manageable. Good planning makes everything possible.
At M8 Scaffolding, we pride ourselves on being flexible, considerate, and easy to work with — qualities that matter just as much as the scaffolds themselves. Reliable service, high safety standards, and genuine client care. That’s exactly what we bring to every job.
