We’re delighted to be working with one of the UK’s top construction contractors, MPMH Construction, who are based in the Central Belt of Scotland.
We’re supporting them with the refurbishment of an iconic Sabhal Mor Ostaig building in the beautiful Isle of Skye, which involves the stripping out of the windows on the building’s facade to allow the installation of new curtain walling.
Due to the variable weather conditions that can be expected in Skye, engineers’ drawings were required to ensure the structure was built to be both water-tight and secure enough to withstand the strong winds that the Sabhal Mor Ostaig building is exposed to, given its coastal location.
The scaffold was carefully tied to the building with Apollo Bolts and fixed to the structure, then anchor tested to the engineer drawings specification, using Hilti Anchor test equipment.
Weekly scaffold inspections are a legal requirement carried out by Stephen Ward and Dean Haining.
