Prestec – British Telecom Exchange Sites, Kilmarnock

M8 Scaffolding has been chosen by Prestec to deliver scaffolding services across a number of British Telecom Exchange sites throughout Scotland. The first of these projects kicked off at Langlands Brae in Kilmarnock.

Safe Access and Street Permits

This building required a street permit so that scaffolding could be safely installed on the pavement, allowing secure access to the front and roof areas for essential painting and repair work. Our experienced team handled the full setup and ensured all safety and compliance requirements were met, helping the project run smoothly from day one.

Why We Use HAKI Staircases

For this project, we chose to install HAKI Staircases rather than traditional ladders. These systems are designed to create a solid, handrailed stairwell through the scaffold – much like a permanent staircase inside a building. They’re strong, stable, and easy to climb, which makes a big difference when workers are carrying tools or materials. Compared with ladders, HAKI stairs are safer, faster, and far more comfortable to use – helping everyone on site move efficiently and with confidence.

Experienced Scaffolding Specialists

At M8 Scaffolding, we have extensive experience working with HAKI Staircases, as well as birdcage scaffolding and crash deck systems. Our team is fully trained and equipped to design the right access solution for any environment, from busy city streets to industrial facilities.

Every project we take on is built around the same principles – safety, reliability, and value for money. With years of hands-on experience across Scotland, M8 Scaffolding provides access solutions that make work easier, safer, and more efficient for every client.
